How it works

From a pile of paper to a clear plan.

Most estates follow the same broad stages. We help you see where you are, what comes next, and who does what.

  1. A free conversation

We talk through the estate, what has happened so far and what worries you most. No obligation, and no documents needed yet.

  2. An agreed plan

We agree the scope and fixed price in writing, including exactly what we will and won't do.

  3. Getting organized

Together we gather the papers, list the assets, debts and accounts, and set up your tracker of tasks and institutions.

  4. Steady follow-through

Regular check-ins, reminders and a running log, with organized files ready for your lawyer and accountant, until the estate is wrapped up.

The usual stages

What settling an estate often looks like.

Timing varies a lot from estate to estate. This is a general outline, not advice about your situation.

The first weeks

Arranging the funeral, finding the will, securing the home and property, and telling close family and key organizations.

The first months

Notifying government, banks, insurers and pensions; opening an estate account; and, with a lawyer, applying for probate if it's needed.

Through the year

Collecting assets, paying bills and debts, cancelling services and subscriptions, and working with an accountant on the tax returns.

Wrapping up

Once taxes and debts are settled and the lawyer and accountant agree it's time, distributing to beneficiaries and closing the estate account.

You keep the decisions. We keep the list.

Throughout, you stay in charge. We keep track of the details, explain the general process, and make sure the right professional is involved at the right time.
